Lake Garda’s beauties: Gargnano Food & Walking Tour
Food Experience in the marvellous setting of Gargnago, enchanting town on Lake Garda’s crystalline waters. The meeting point is in the cloister of the Franciscan convent dating from the 1300s and once used as citrus warehouse. This exceptional historical building still retains its original charm.
The experience includes:
Visit to the old lemon garden steps from the city centre. It is the only remaining private active lemon garden, still retaining the old structure and recently restored respecting the original architectural design. The guide will explain the history of citrus growing and lemon cultivation along Lake Garda;
Incredible cheese workshop in a shop established 50 years ago. Participants will access the dairy facility attached to the shop to experience authentic Italian cheese making with locally sourced milk;
Tasting of cheese selection, some made with raw milk and flavoured with local produce like lemon and caper. Tasting of home-made cured meat paired with a local Doc wine;
Lunch in the lemon garden: a lovely picnic surrounded by the scent of lemons and with a breathtaking view of the lake. It includes a typical Italian dish and a local dessert;
