The 2025 “Mercato della Terra di Padernello”

The famous “Mercato della Terra® di Padernello” is held each third Sunday of the month in the Castle of Padernello. This Slow Food-sponsored project displays a careful selection of small-scale farmers and artisan producers.

A place of alliances and exchanges for a diverse local economy, this is a one-of-a-kind market whose aim is to promote ‘good, clean, and fair’ local food and raise awareness in those who buy it.

Indeed, the produce displayed and sold at the market have to satisfy specific quality standards, set forth with the aim of promoting local production and preserving the history, roots, and culinary tradition of the local community.

In addition to producers from Brescia’s plain, exponents from neighboring areas will attend this event for an even deeper experience of exchange. In particular, collaboration has been expanded with producers and Slow Food “condotte” from the provinces of Cremona, Bergamo and Mantua, which together with Brescia have organized “Lombardia Orientale 2017 Regione Europea dell’Enogastronomia”, the project to have the East Lombardy area recognized as a European food and wine region.
