Lake Moro Park: an unexpected beauty
Traveling along the old SS42 in the territory of Darfo Boario Terme, near the Casa Cantoniera (a roadman’s house) in Corna you come across signs indicating the detour towards Lake Moro. Take this road, go uphill for about 3 km and you arrive at Capo di Lago, where a true environmental jewel awaits you on the edge of the main tourist flows: the Lake Moro Park.
Located at 381 m above sea level in the basin between the Sorline area of Angolo Terme and the Capo di Lago district of Darfo Boario Terme, Lake Moro is geographically divided between the two municipalities. Surrounded by lush nature, the lake welcomes you with its transparent waters, made dark and mysterious by the profiles of the vegetation.
The lake has small dimensions (820 m long, 320 m wide and 42.20 m deep), and its perimeter is easily covered with a short walk, the best way to enjoy unique views in a regenerating quiet.
From a naturalistic point of view, the proximity to the Mediterranean climate of Lake Iseo and the glacial climate of Adamello make Lake Moro the area with the highest concentration of biodiversity in Europe. A favorable condition that is also reflected in the production of local cheeses, honey and oil.
Summer Activities at Lake Moro
Immersed in the tranquility during the winter period, in the summer Lake Moro becomes a true point of reference for the hundreds of visitors who crowd its shores every weekend. There are bars , toilets and pedal boats available to them.
There are those who enjoy themselves between dips and there are photography enthusiasts hunting for the best shots, strolling to Anfurro or the shrine overlooking the lake. During the months of greatest tourist flow, a shuttle service is active with departure from and arrival to the locality of Corna di Darfo.
