Family bike rides

When your easy bike calls, Brescia answers. Many bike routes in the province are suitable for a family trip on a seat. Spend an outstanding afternoon with your loved ones. Here are four itineraries worth mentioning:

Lake Garda suspended bike route

Ciclopedonale sospesa, Limone sul Garda

A 2-km route perched over the lake, between blue waters and imposing rocks. It is the Lake Garda suspended bike route, the most spectacular track in Europe, stretching from Limone’s town limit to Riva del Garda. It’s a total of 6 km of enjoyment between lemon gardens, olive trees, and breathtaking views.

Park your car in one of the many paid parking lots in Limone and continue by bike across the town center. You can rent bikes on site.

Oglio River Bike Trail

280 km of diverse and charming landscapes, from the summits of upper Valle Camonica to the plain passing from Lake Iseo and Franciacorta.

Ciclovia dell'Oglio, Valle Camonica

A recommended route which includes the possibility to stop by the lake for a break is the beautiful Vello – Toline, the old coastal road which is now a cycle and pedestrian route. During the summer, you can stop at the cloister of Vello, equipped with a private beach and direct access to the lake.

Valtenesi Tour

In bici sulle colline della Valtènesi, Lago di Garda

A marvelous tour of the hills of Valtenesi and incredible views of lower Lake Garda, enjoying the flavor of the vineyards and the lake’s mild climate. Among the not-to-miss attractions are the Castle of Padenghe, the historic center of Polpenazze, and the Salò lakefront.

Brescia – Verona

A relaxing flat path connecting two historically important, service-driven cities. In the proximity of Peschiera, you can decide whether to take the detour towards Mantova and visit the most beautiful towns along the Mincio river.

This is La Via delle Sorelle. Cammino Brescia Bergamo, a perfect route for indulging in time in the open air and enjoying the exceptional heritage composed of UNESCO sites, castles and monasteries, natural and archaeological areas, in a sustainable and “slow” way!

Tailored to cyclists and two-wheel enthusiasts there is also the Ciclovia della Cultura, with an overall total of no less than 170 km immersed in nature and history for a one-of-a-kind and spectacular route!

Among the most interesting places traversed by the route are the historic center of Brescia, the Olivetan Abbey of Saints Nicholas and Paul VI in Rodengo Saiano, the Castle of Bornato, Franciacorta with its many trails and open-air bike routes, all the way to the Sebino Peat Bog Nature Reserve and the shores of Lake Iseo. MTB and gravity

From Lake Garda to Valle Camonica, unleash all your adrenaline and enjoy the many MTB, off-road, and gravity options in the province! Here are our recommendations.

Limone – Tremalzo – Passo Nota

With a length of 4 km and a difference in altitude of 1,700 m, this challenging trail departs from Limone sul Garda and reaches Passo Nota after crossing Tremosine.

It’s a route which will put your muscles to the test, but we are certain that the incredible views and the wild nature of Upper Lake Garda will make up for it.

From Edolo to Piz Tri

Let’s move to Valle Camonica following this beautiful trail from Edolo to the summit of Piz Tri, 2,300 m above sea level.

This large circular trail can be completed in about 6.5 hours. For the most part, it follows the old roads and mule tracks built during the Great War and offers an invaluable perspective to admire the mountains of Mount Rosa, Bernina, Adamello, and Ortles-Cevedale ranges.

Bike Park Ponte di Legno and Montecampione

Is MTB not enough? Experience the excitement of the two large Valle Camonica bike parks: Tonale – Ponte di Legno – Temù and Montecampione!

Other off-road tracks

Other fun MTB tracks in Valle Camonica and Lake Iseo that you can’t miss are:

  • Cividate Camuno circuit passing by Esine – Berzo Inferiore – Bienno – Mezzadro di Breno. This trail is almost all unpaved and offers noteworthy views of several points of interest such as the Cividate Camuno Archaeological Park. Easy level (13 km, maximum change in altitude 216 m);
  • Cerveno mountains departing from and arriving to Breno passing by Cerveno – Concarena rest stop – Lozio – Malegno. Beautiful descent to Sommaprada with unobstructed view of Lozio Valley. Medium level (26 km, maximum change in altitude 962 m);
  • Mount Guglielmo, “Brescia’s Mountain”, attracts crowds all year long. The excursion is rather challenging with departure from Lake Iseo (Marone or Sulzano) or from Zone directly. The summit offers a splendid view of Lake Iseo and the mountains of Valle Camonica. Hard level (from Zone: 25 km, difference in altitude 1,440 m, duration of the ride 4 – 6 hours).

Road bikes

The province of Brescia is a very popular destination among road bikers. Summits to conquer and routes touching lakes and mountains make our area a real must-do for road bikers around the world. Try and see for yourself!

Passo Gavia

One of the famous Giro d’Italia ascents, particularly appreciated by bikers thanks to low car traffic. 17.8 km, 1,363 m of difference in altitude, a maximum slope of 16%, and views that will remain in your heart forever make this summit one of the stages to conquer at least once in your life. The ascent to Gavia starts just after the town of Ponte di Legno.

Pisogne – Val Palot

This is a pleasant ride from Pisogne to the end of Palot Valley, a small ski area in the winter and a perfect place for excursions in the summer. Every year in May, an uphill time trial open to amateurs and paralympians is hosted here. It’s called “Ciclismo per tutti” (Cycling for everyone).

Before starting the ascent, you can visit the church of Santa Maria della Neve in Pisogne, a small gem boasting a beautiful fresco cycle by Romanino.

Tour of Lake Iseo

This excursion is ideal also for beginners thanks to the almost total absence of slopes and the many services along the road.

In bici sul lago d'Iseo, Vello-Toline

The circular road around Lake Iseo is 66 km long and reserves riders many surprises. Old tunnels along the Bergamo (west) coast, the imposing Monte Isola raising in the middle of the lake, numerous rest areas along the lake, and the magnificent Vello – Toline bike path – it is certainly worth finding a half day to enjoy this one-of-a-kind experience in Lombardy.

Lake Garda cycle and pedestrian route

Lake Garda bike circuit is a spectacular 140 km ring, a perfect way to enjoy wild nature on the Brescian side and the historical and architectural attractions of the tourist towns on the Trentino, Verona, and Lower Lake Garda sides (Sirmione and Desenzano).
