Already documented in 1040 A.D., the current building dates from the 12th century and is a wonderful example of Lombard Romanesque architecture with Verona influences. The polychrome marble façade with the door decorated with plants, animals, and siren motifs is beautiful. The crypt contains the remains of St. Ercolanus in a sarcophagus.
